Black Entertainment USA - contributions
From Michael Vass
There are dozens of sites on the internet, each with its own appeal or lack thereof. Many of these sites are trying to get you to buy something, others charge you to have a service done, some ask for contributions to run, and yet still more combine the above in some manner.
The sites of M V Consulting, Inc. were not created with the intention of charging you to view any of the information provided. Knowledge and information flow best when it's given freely. We understand that, and that is our first priority.
Still financial independence is not part of the corporate description, nor is it the hallmark of myself. Thus I have provided T-shirts, Teddy bears, mugs, mouse pads, sweatshirts, posters, jewelry boxes and more. Each item is emblazoned with a unique slogan, saying, and/or graphic that cannot be found anywhere else on the internet. Some are funny, others political, some serious.
But I'm not related to Donna Karan or Versace, nor do I have their advertising budgets.
Thus I am left with requests for contributions.
But what do I need contributions for? Is my corporation in trouble? And I trying to get rich quick? And I biding my time til I can sellout?
My corporation is in excellent shape. As I've stated in the blog, I have bought a house - so personally things are ok. And while I would enjoy having Warren Buffett's wealth I have no problem earning far far less. But as to selling, I'm not a fool. Were I to get an offer from Google or Microsoft I'd sell, and start all over again. But other than that, my intention is the growth of a long steady progression of success.
So why ask for contribution?
Because there are things I would like to do now that are beyond my means. I enjoy giving away books I've reviewed, and I think book lovers have enjoyed that. I have enjoyed providing diner and a nice wine in a comfortable restaurant for my readers, but that sadly is only really available to a few of my more local visitors.
I am very happy to have helped provide for a Thanksgiving filled with food and a Christmas that ensured bills were paid and gifts were exchanged. I'd like to do that more. But a difficult economy makes the purse strings of larger national corporations draw tight.
I have and will again be happy to send money to help those families, orphan children, and anyone suffering the travesties of war in Darfur. But again I'm not Bill Gates or Don Cheadle.
So I come to you and simply say, contribute a dollar, or .50 cents, or $5 if you feel extravagant. Some already have. Maybe they will again. But as always I guarantee that no less than 90% of every dime will go to my readers in some form. If you count the various activities and items I do on this site from my own pocket than I suppose you can say its 110%.
Of course this is a choice for you. I will do what I can throughout every year as I have in the past, and plan for the future. If you wish you can contribute. If you prefer you can shop in our online store and find a gift for a loved one or for yourself. The profit of which will be added to funds used to help others, like Darfur or for Christmas.
No matter what you choose, I thank you for your readership and support. You have the whole internet to choose from, and I appreciate that you all have chosen me time and again from across the globe.
