Black Friday 2009

It's that time of year again. Since Halloween every department store and retailer has gone full blast on getting the Christmas decorations up. Already there are discounts of incredible proportions being offered for cars and men's suits and so on.

The internet has equally gone crazy. I've gotten more spam in the past 2 weeks than in the months prior combine. Everyone want you to buy something, now!

Well I want you to buy something too. At least I'm honest enough to not try to slam it down your throat or hide it behind some kind of jingle. But like ever other retailer the economy has made life difficult for me as well. So I appreciate if you you check out my online stores.

The Alchemy at World of Vass online store features authentic English Pewter and Swarovski Crystal items that are imported direct from England. Virtually every item is hand-crafted. The workmanship is of the highest quality.

This store features earrings, pendants, shot glasses, goblets, skulls, wall decorations (flags), bracelets, rings, cell phone charms, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and more. There is something for people who love the goth style, dragons, faries, alchemy, the middle ages, vampires, werewolves, the unique and the original. There are items for men and women.

Suffice to say that I think most anyone will find at least one item that they will like and want for themselves or for someone they care about.

The World of Vass online store is filled with over 1000 items. You can find cooking aprons, teddy bears, coffee mugs, beer steins, mouse pads, calendars, postcards, t-shirts, sweatshirts, jewlry boxes, even underwear and far more.

Every item offered at World of Vass is a unique creation of M V Consultng, Inc. You can't find these designs in any store in the world, just at my online store. We have over 20 separate designs - some funny, sexy, political, or just interesting. There are designs for men and women. There are designs specific for Whites, Blacks , Hispanics and completely nuetral.

If you can't find something for someone you know, or yourself, then you are far richer than most (so buy something anyway - call it a donation to all my work). Honestly, I think that everyone can find something they will enjoy at the store.

No matter which store you choose (or both) I can guarantee several things:

  • I personally own several of the items that are on sale, and thus can stand behind the quality (you may have even seen me with various items in my video commentaries and photo shoots).

  • You get what you are buying. There are no imitations.

  • Speedy delivery. No need to go out and face the hordes fighting over a sale item that you don't really. It will be delivered to your door.

  • Your information is private. No one will ever get your information from M V Consulting, Inc.

Ok, I won't go on. But I do appreciate every visitor to my blogs and my stores. Your support is vital to me, because without you I'm just writing in the dark. So I thank you for reading this, and if you elect in checking out my stores.

And if you do like what you find, please do pass on the word.

Thank you. And now back to the real reason you are here.

M V Consulting, Inc. Releases 2008 Annual Growth Figures

New York, NY (PRWEB) February 10, 2009 -- M V Consulting, Inc. released information of the growth of several divisions of the company today. The company stated that for the full year of 2008 the company recorded significant growth in 4 of its 5 division. This growth was consistent both in each quarter and the entire year.

"In 2008, M V Consulting, Inc. encountered the same difficulties of expansion, credit, and consumer reluctance that highlighted all corporations," stated the President of M V Consulting, Michael Vass. He went on to say, "Yet the Company went on to improve and record significant growth in virtually every aspect of what we do. By almost every metric that a corporation can be judged by we outperformed, and given the environment we did this in it is even more impressive."

M V Consulting, Inc. does not release exact numbers of its performance, as these numbers are considered proprietary to the Company. But the Company does provide growth percentages and other metrics to the general public.

Growth in the Company's oldest blog site, Black Entertainment USA (http://www.blackentertainmentblog.com), continued its record of year over year expansion.

    • The site reached a milestone of over 1000 posts in 2008
    • Visitors to the blog site increased by 56%
    • Unique visitors (first time traffic) jumped by 137%
    • Pages viewed by visitors, and the time spent on the site, reached record levels, up 65%
    • The site consistently reached internet viewers in at least 125 countries around the globe each month for the year

In the Company's political blog, VASS (http://www.mvass.com), the first full year comparisons were made with remarkable results.

    • The site reached a milestone of exceeding 500 posts in 2008
    • Unique visitors increased by 138%
    • Page views by visitors, and time on the site, increased over 250%
    • Visitors skyrocketed by over 50%

The Company's online clothing and consumer goods store (http://www.cafepress.com/nova68) had equally impressive results for 2008. Increased sales were attributed to the increase in product lines form 8 in 2007 to 18 at the end of December 2008. At the end of the year over 1500 separate items are now available in the Company's store. The Company has also expanded on the number of models and photo shoots to display the various designer clothing lines, in excess of 200% in 2008.

In addition to the blogs and sites of the Company, the writing of primary author and President Michael Vass increased from being directly submitted for 8 non-Company blogs and sites to over 115 blogs and sites. Included in that expansion on the internet is one of the major milestone achievements of the Company for 2008.

    • TV One, which reaches 40 million people via its cable network channel, expanded its collaboration with the Company as it featured the VASS political blog as 1 of 2 blogs to provide its online visitors with commentary on the 2008 Presidential election.

    • Several other events that the Company was involved in during 2008 include:

    • Charitable work and donations to Ronald McDonald House Charities on behalf of the Madden Cordero Memorial, and to Not On Our Watch

    • Active promotion of voter registration.

    • The purchase of larger work facilities.

    • The creation of a Youtube channel featuring video editorials by Michael Vass.

    • Coverage of the Wesley Snipes, Sean Bell, and other trials.

    • Coverage of the entire Democratic and Republican Primaries, and the election campaigns of the Democratic and Republican Presidential candidates.

    • The Company's site became ranked among the top .5% of all blogs in the world (as ranked by Technorati out of 55 million blogs).

    • Reviews of numerous movies, books, videogames and other items.

The only division of the Company to remain flat in 2008 was its search engine optimization (SEO) division. This was attributed to lack of promotion equal to that of other divisions of the Company.

Michael Vass commented, "There is nothing like the ability of the Company to grow as it has, in the face of the credit crisis and uncertain economic stability. I must believe that there are only positive reasons why so many people from across the world have sought out the blogs and sites of the Company, and I promise to maintain the levels of credibility and responsible dissemination of information that we have come to be so well regarded for."

M V Consulting, Inc. Announces Milestone at Black Entertainment USA

New York (PRWEB) December 2, 2008 -- M V Consulting, Inc. announced today the achievement of a major milestone breakthrough within its Black Entertainment USA blog (BEB). The BEB blog, which is focused on entertainment news, sports, movie previews and reviews, television shows, and race relations issues in the media has been in existence for 3 years. In that time it has grown to be in the top .1% of blogs (out of the estimated 100 million+ in the world) with visitors from 125 nations every month.

Black Entertainment USA has now published its 1000th post. This milestone places the entertainment blog alongside some of the largest blogs, many national newspapers, and beyond most magazines in terms of publication rates. In 3 years the blog has gone from an unknown to maintaining readership that exceeds many mid-sized city periodicals.

In achieving 1000 posts, BEB has solidified its position as a leading internet destination for entertainment news commentary. Visitors read about all aspects of entertainment and interact with commentary as only the blogosphere allows. Hundreds have shared their thoughts, confirming the stature of the blog.

Michael Vass, President of M V Consulting, Inc., stated,

"Having crossed the 1000th post threshold at Black Entertainment USA, and nearly clearing 2000 posts when you include our political blog, I must admit my pleasure. The most important thing though has been the input and readership of tens of thousands of visitors each month." Mr. Vass went on to say, "From across the globe, representing every walk of life and growing each month, the visitors to the blogs of the Company make it all worthwhile. And now advertisers are recognizing these achievements. It's a great feeling."

In addition to this major milestone there are several milestones in the other divisions at M V Consulting's sites. These include:

      1. Over 600 posts at the political orientated blog - VASS
      2. The selection of VASS as 1 of 2 blogs that covered the entire Presidential election cycle for TV One's online website
      3. Exponential growth in key demographics of visitors such as 19 - 49 year olds, African Americans and Hispanics/Latinos, the college and post-college educated, and those earning $30,000 - $100,000 and above
      4. The continued expansion of the clothing lines featured at the Company's online store
      5. Increased visitors to the Company's online store
      6. Success in gaining initial advertisers
      7. Donations to charitable organizations and events growth
      8. The purchase of new office spaces for the Company

Another milestone that has been achieved is the recognition of M V Consulting, Inc. President and primary author Michael Vass in the blogosphere. Mr. Vass has grown from obscurity to writing for the Company's blogs to currently being the primary and/or contributing author at over 100 blogs besides those of the Company.

Additional growth of the Company will be detailed in the annual announcement.

About M V Consulting, Inc. and Michael Vass:
Mr. Michael Vass is a former securities industry account executive of good standing; and currently works as a consultant on the internet and investor relations, and social/political blog writing. He has served in the US Marine Corps Reserves, as well as worked and studied in such diverse fields as entertainment, communications, philosophy and chemistry. He has lived abroad, in Moscow and Tbilisi, as well as in various cities throughout the United States.

Mr. Vass is President of M V Consulting, Inc. a diversified private company that maintains divisions in search engine optimization, an online store, political and entertainment/celebrity blogs, and website/blog maintenence.

It is the combinations of these unique experiences that have led Mr. Vass to the creation of M V Consulting, Inc. The Company owns Black Entertainment USA (www.blackentertainmentblog.com), VASS (www.mvass.com), a corporate website (www.vassconsult.com), and an online store (www.cafepress.com/nova68).

M V Consulting donates to Ronald McDonald House Charities on behalf of the Madden Cordero Memorial

Well now that I shared the less than pleasant events that took place for me on Saturday night, let me share with you the great events of the day that preceded the night.

Saturday was the 1st Annual Pig Roast Memorial for Madden Cordero. I had mentioned that I would be attending this charity event previously. And the trip up to Hagaman New York was uneventful unlike the trip back.

Michael Vass presenting a check from M V Consulting, Inc. to Gregg Cordero at the Madden Cordero Memorial held at Tom's Tavern in Hagaman, New York
Once at Tom’s Tavern I took the chance to look around. Hagaman, New York is a quiet town just outside of Amsterdam. It’s a nice place and filled with interesting people. Tom’s Tavern is a nice local establishment, filled with local humor and more than 20 trophies that the bar’s sponsored APA team has won over the years. In addition there are several Darts trophies as well. The bar is well stocked with a variety of liquor, and there are plenty of seats inside.

One thing that you may not notice upon entering the bar is something pointed out to be that day by Tom the owner. On a top shelf on the right behind the bar are 3 shot classes. Each is filled with a drink. Those 3 shots are for Tom, his dearly loved mother who passed recently at the age of 93, and Madden Cordero whom the event was being held in honor of.

The event had several items donated for it, including use of Tom’s Tavern, much of the food, several bottles of liquor, and other items. One local liquor store, upon hearing what the event was raising money for, chose to forgo giving liquor and drinks. Instead they chose to make a donation directly to the Ronald McDonald House Charities on behalf of Madden Cordero. 100% of the funds raised at the event went to RMHC on behalf of Madden Cordero.

At the event there were several pig that were roasted, hamburgers, Italian sausages, baked ziti, roasted peppers, several types of salad and more. Several kegs of beer were available as well as drinks at the bar.

This was perfect as there were several families there, with children as young as 6 months on up at the event. I arrived early and stayed until about 7pm and counted a couple dozen people at the event, and I am aware of a couple dozen more that were to attend the event later that night. There was no planned end time to the event, and the DJ arrived at 5:30pm with plans to be there a long time.

If I were to say that the event was successful and fun, I would be underestimating and belittling the spirits at the event.

When I had the chance I was able to speak with Gregg Cordero and present him with a check for $200 dollars.

Michael Vass presenting a check from M V Consulting, Inc. to Gregg Cordero at the Madden Cordero Memorial

In addition I also gave him a mug, found at my online store, which states that “Character is forever”. And obviously the character of Gregg Cordero shone through the event and the dedication and love he had for his son.

Michael Vass presenting a Character is Forever mug to Gregg Cordero

And I also presented Gregg with a mouse pad (which oddly he did not have in his office he confided), also found at the online store, which states “I am the myth”. Again I felt this exemplified Gregg in that he defies the myth of fathers that don’t care (which the major media seems to believe) and lived up to the mythos of what fathers should be.

Michael Vass presenting a I am the Myth mousepad to Gregg Cordero

The event was a great day overall. Hundreds of dollars, if not thousands, were raised at the event and have been directly donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities on behalf of Madden Cordero. It was refreshing to see all the individuals that contributed and supported the event, as well as multiple companies across New York State, especially in a time of economic instability. It just proves that some things are worthy no matter how much money is in a 401K, or how badly Congress does it’s job.

I am happy to have supported and donated to this worthy cause. I’m looking forward to next years event, and plan on making a substantially greater donation. I encourage all my readers to make a donation as well, and for those concerned that they can only donate $5 or $10 dollars I offer you this idea.

You can donate via the donation widget on the sites of M V Consulting, Inc and I will ensure that at the end of this year all the monies collected will go directly to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Again I will donate 100% of all monies collected via the donation widget at the sites of M V Consulting, Inc at the end of 2008, so never worry about your donation being too small – even 50 cents helps and adds up with everyone else.

Donate for breast implants or school books, NAACP, and Jerry's kids

Ok, it’s official. America is screwed up in a massive way. I can only come to that conclusion after finding out about a site that I just can’t believe exists. But it does, and it’s real. Not only that, it was a featured as a story on Fox News earlier today. What is the site? MyFreeImplants.com [No I will not link directly to the site – if you need to see it you can get there easily enough]

Only in America is it possible for such a site to not only exist, but to relatively flourish. The goal of this site is that flat-chested women (18 and over) place their pictures and bio on the site. Men (or women I suppose) who find a particular woman interesting, contact that woman and speak with them via email, as I understand. Based on the looks of the woman, and conversations – possibly with reward of “sexy photos” (at the discretion of the ladies involved) – the ‘benefactors’ donate money towards the ladies gaining cosmetic surgery that will augment their breasts.

That’s the basis of the site. Simple direct and legal. Based on the 4 successes listed on the homepage of the site right now this site has raised at least $23,345. Do the women look different? Yes. Better? That’s dependant on your personal opinions.

But the thing that I am amazed by is what I just mentioned. This site raises money for basically nothing. I won’t equate it with porn, nor an internet somewhat interactive version of Playboy, but I don’t think it’s far from it either.

I’m sure the women involved are quite happy with the results of the site. I’m sure that women that want the cosmetic surgery, without the means to afford it, and willing to undergo this process feel justified. I don’t question them at all. But I must say I’m annoyed by it.

Call it a bit of jealousy. I request donations of .50 cents to $1 (more if you want) for the virtually daily efforts I provide on my blogs and sites. I provide t-shirts, mugs, poetry and more, updated several times a year. I use those donations to help fund the cost of the various sites, and my give away contests (like the $1,100 I gave away for Christmas) and efforts to improve the quality of life – like the I Love America That’s Why I Vote! campaign. Effectively I give back a tangible something for the precious and generous donations that I receive from you my readers. And I thank each and every one of you that do this for me.

But this website seems to just receive money for nothing. I don’t get it. I don’t see the value in it. Hell, even going to a strip club has more value and return in it. And why do the male benefactors waste their money in such a manner? Forget my donations, the $23,000 mentioned above is discretionary money that could have gone to AIDS prevention and cure efforts. It could buy new school books for a local public elementary school, or help feed kids in those schools. It can give the homeless meals, clothing, and shelter. It could go to organizations that support the improvement of African Americans, Hispanics/Latinos, and other people of color in every aspect of our lives. Each of those things is far more worthy of a donation than me, and definitely the breast implant site.

So maybe I’m a bit jealous. Maybe I want to get .50 cents per reader so that I can do a huge campaign to help register votes so that the President elected in November realizes that they need to make substantive changes to improve America for Blacks and Hispanics/Latinos. Maybe I want $1 a reader to be able to give a high school student their first year in college free. Maybe I want to give multiple families across the nation money so they can enjoy a feast on the holiday, have gifts for the kids, and/or pay off a few bills. And yes, having a few extra dollars for myself if possible would be nice.

At least I’m honest. And I strive to give a somewhat tangible return for that, even if I don’t get anything. Hell, if the choice is between me and the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon, give it to Jerry’s kids. But $5,000 to look at pictures of a woman with bigger boobs?

I suggest this to those that would spend their money so frivolously. Buy a DVD for $20, take the remaining $4,980 and split it among a few of the organizations I’ve just mentioned. And if you have .50 cents, or a $1 or 2 extra, I’m happy to receive that as well.

The point is you can do far better, for far more people, than an optional self-respect boost for a single person.

And if you think I’m wrong, I’d love to know why.

M V Consulting, Inc. launches the I Love America That's Why I Vote! Campaign

New York, NY (PRWEB) February 4, 2008 -- In recognition of the importance of the 2008 U.S. Presidential election, M V Consulting, Inc. has created the I Love America That's Why I Vote! campaign.

    I Love America That's Why I Vote!

The campaign is a growing coalition of bloggers and corporations that are focused on encouraging all Americans to be involved in the election of the 44th President of the United States. Each company and blog has agreed that the impending election is a critical point for America. Every one believes that the best thing for America is Americans making their voice being heard via their vote.

The campaign is not about choosing Democrat or Republican, Liberal or Conservative. This is not a cause to promote any one candidate or party line. Its intention is not to pick what the American public should be told to do.

M V Consulting, Inc President Michael Vass stated,

"This is the most important issue in perhaps several decades. America is at a crossroads and the best choice for America is dependant on all Americans coming out and voting. I firmly believe that the voice of America, expressed via our Constitutional right to vote, will find that best choice and set America on the best path possible."

In the spirit and understanding of the right to vote, the campaign is not focused on who is the choice of America. It is focused on getting Americans involved in the election process and executing their rights. This is the most important part of the freedom of the American election process. The unparalleled peaceful transition of power from one Chief Executive to another is the envy of many nations; and M V Consulting, Inc and the other companies and blogs believe in the power of the American people to pick the best choice to lead the nation into a more prosperous and peaceful future.

Already companies such as Creation Network (www.theaddesignguys.com) and blogs like Happy Nappy Head (http://happynappyhead.blogspot.com) have become supporters of the That's Why I Vote! campaign. Additional supporters are always welcome in the election season long campaign.

The ultimate goal of the campaign is to help register new voters, and motivate registered voters to get out and enact their Constitutional Right to vote. This is one of the most important and powerful rights that Americans have; one that many nations in the world deny to their citizens due to race, religion, gender, and other factors.

Corporations and blogs are invited to join the I Love America That's Why I Vote! campaign. There is no cost, any the only requirement is the desire to promote voter registration and involvement in the election process. This is a non-partisan effort, and any political affiliation has an open invitation to join in the event.

One of the key characteristics of this campaign is the ability of all supporters to have a dedicated webpage that highlights their message to the internet, and Americans, encouraging voter participation - without the pressure of political affiliation.

In addition to the dedicated webpages, promotions and press releases via the blogs of M V Consulting, Inc (www.blackentertainmentblog.com, www.mvass.com) as well as other events are planned throughout the entire election season.

To find out more or to view the current messages you can go to www.vassconsult.com/vote/

To become a supporter contact Info@vassconsult.com

To find out more about Happy Nappy Head please check http://happynappyhead.blogspot.com for contact details.

Success in 2007 - Thank You

As the year is coming to an end I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the reasons why I have had a successful and prosperous year. I would love to say it was merely my efforts and quality of my writing that has grown all my blogs and M V Consulting, Inc. But to say that would be a lie.

In the past year I have spoken with, read blogs and articles by, and debated with multiple bloggers, programmers, graphic artists, lawyers, friends and associates. It is because of this multitude of people I have had the ideas, and comments I have shared with you all, and it has shaped in part or in whole the look of all my sites. I can only hope I will always be aware enough to pay attention to such good advice and insight, and thus provide the caliber of posts you have all come to expect.

In particular there are several that stand out and I want to thank directly. I invite you to review their sites and blogs as well.

    Top blogs

  • http://www.Buzzologysurveys.blogspot.com – A long time supporter of my blogs and efforts. I’m always happy to work with this blogger.

  • http://caseylartigue.blogspot.com - One of the bloggers that joined me in the TV One sponsored live commentary on the Heartland Presidential Forum.

  • http://www.polichicksonline.com - Another of the bloggers that joined me in the TV One sponsored live commentary on the Heartland Presidential Forum.

  • http://www.africanamericanopinion.com – A site I cross-blog at that also occasionally provides me thoughts to post on. Filled with multiple views that cross the spectrum.

  • http://www.1800blogger.com – I am a contributing author to multiple blogs here and work closely with this company.

    Sites

  • http://www.tvoneonline.com/presidentialforum.asp - TV One selected my blog and several other bloggers to comment live on the Heartland Presidential Forum. You can see the Forum at this site, and also get to view the 5 bloggers invited to be involved in this event.

  • http://www.theaddesignguys.com - Graphic Design Services – My graphic designer, who takes my jumbled ideas and turns them into the polished t-shirt, mug, Teddy bear, and site graphics you see.

  • http://www.authorsontheweb.com – They selected my blog to review the Robin Roberts book, From the Heart, and worked with me in providing my first give away contest.

  • http://www.prweb.com – The media outlet that I use to distribute my press releases. Affordable, and effective in reaching the world.

  • http://www.cafepress.com – The basis on which my online store functions. Making it possible for even new entrepreneurs to be in business for themselves.

    Guest Writers and Friends

Each of these individuals has helped me consistently provide quality posts. Several have directly or indirectly created posts found at Black Entertainment USA or Vass

  • Michael H.
  • Audrey B.
  • Claudia M.
  • Jennifer V.

    Special note

  • Mr. Malik Shabazz – the attorney for Ms. Megan Williams in West Virginia. I’ve spoken with him several times, and supported his efforts at the rally to draw national attention to the horrendous kidnapping, torture, and rape of Ms. Williams.

It is in part due to the efforts and help of the above mentioned sites and people that I have been able to have the success that 2007 has been. I look forward to continuing the relationships I have, and growing to include others in 2008.

To those I have mentioned, and most importantly you my readers, I say thank you. None of my efforts would matter with out you.

A few quick thoughts from Michael Vass - 12.10.2007.1

Well the year is quickly coming to an end, and the corporate paperwork is piling high. I hate to say it, but this is not one of my favorite times of year. That said there are many things going on, and I’m not slowing down.

As long-time readers may be familiar, I recently worked with TV One on their live webcast of the Heartland Presidential Forum. I reviewed the Forum and spoke about it in depth, and I will be doing a bit more about that in the near term. Keep an eye out for an upcoming commentary along those lines shortly.

This is the final week of the $1000 Holiday Give-Away Contest. Don’t miss your chance to win $1000 free. The terms to enter are simple and easy to do. No purchase is required. What have you got to lose? Check out the details here.

I ran across an interesting site recently. It’s a newer blog, discussing similar thoughts on Black actors. I particularly liked the post on Don Cheadle, and Black Actresses Get No Industry Love – 30-39 Crew. It’s a different take on the entertainment industry and how we people of color are represented. Check it out.

Don’t forget that there is still time to pick up a gift for your loved ones, or yourself, at my online store. There is something for everyone there, and the original designs stand out with personality and good looks. If you have never visited the store before, this is your chance to see what I have done to date. If you have been there, go back and look again what might have been added.

Looking at the choices I have in my store beats running around from store to store with huge crowds and the cold snow and ice weather that is this winter. And if you have any suggestions, let me know. I always love to hear what you have to say.

Keep an eye out for the various end of year lists for 2007. It’s a popular favorite and I will be presenting them shortly.

If you are wondering about the up-coming election, and which candidates might be of interest, I suggest you see my Vass blog. I’ve been covering the ups and downs of all the major candidates since the beginning of the year. I won’t forget about them in 2008 either. Remember your vote is too valuable to be given away cheaply, and too permanent to take back once cast.

    Well more soon.
